Information Technology Intern (Part Time)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The intern will be assigned to assist a professional staff with providing computer hardware, software and technical support to various departments. The intern will be responsible for the following scope of work duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, application software
  • Provide end user support in various levels of technical and non-technical staff
  • Configure operating systems and software for network connectivity
  • Configure operating systems and software for network connectivity
  • User setup and configuration
  • Hardware build and configuration
  • Student must be pursuing a degree in MIS / IT / Electronics / Software Development or related field.
  • Student must have awareness of the PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.
  • Student must have awareness of the PC Industry‚Äôs current and emerging technology trends and direction, as well as a keen interest in computer-based information systems and technology.
  • Interested applicants should possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.
  • Should have the ability to research and understand technical documentation, and an understanding of how to apply various technical resources.
  • Ability to perform tasks such as providing operating systems and application software installations and upgrades, virus protection and eradication.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Applicants must be available and willing to commit at least six (6) months for an internship.
  • A minimum 2.5 grade point average is required.
  • Student must provide a resume, and a current unofficial transcript (proof of good academic standing).
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
